No More Stick People!

To start off the new year in kindergarten we learned how to draw people using shapes instead of making stick people.  Students first did a drawing of a large Raggedy Ann doll by using basic shapes and a variety of lines.  Next, we used Wonderfoam shapes to create a collage of a person.  When the collage was completed, students looked at it and did a drawing of their person using shapes.  After this lesson was complete, we passed a “No more stick people!” rule since we now know that people are made of shapes.
