Fall Still-life Paintings

A still life is a work of art depicting mostly inanimate subject matter, typically commonplace objects which may be either natural, (food, flowers or shells) or man-made, (baskets, sculptures, vases) in an arranged setting. Third, fourth and fifth graders painted a still life composed of fall objects. The objects in the still life were basic shapes such as pumpkins, baskets, angels, trees and a teddy bear. You can see the students paid close attention to how objects were in front or behind each other, their sizes in relationship to each other and the texture of the objects.
